Environmental principles
As a member of the electronics industry, we help the society advance, develop, and prosper through our operations including the development, design, manufacture, inspection, and service of semiconductors and system products.
We also understand that our operations are closely related to global environmental issues, and regard environmental friendliness in the international society and community as one of the top-priority challenges in management, and continue environmental improvement with the participation of all our employees.
- We will build up an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard, apply it to our organizational operations in their entirety, work to continue our improvement drive with the participation of all employees, and make efforts to protect the global environment and prevent pollution.
- Not only will we observe environmental laws and other requirements we agree to, but we will also set up voluntary standards whenever necessary and work to preserve the environment.
- We will work to reduce the environmental load of our operations in view of the entire life cycle of our products, ranging from their development and design stage to production, distribution, use, and scrapping.
- To carry out these principles securely, we will set environmental purposes and targets and draft and carry out specific management plans within technically and financially possible limits. We will also review these plans periodically and revise them whenever necessary, in order that they reflect the changes in the status and information surrounding our operations.
- Important challenges
- We will promote the development of "eco-friendly products" designed with reduced environmental loads in their lifecycles.
- We save power and other energy to prevent global warming and the exhaustion of energy resources.
- We will work to reduce our emissions, establish a system of separate emission control, and promote recycling in order to prevent environmental pollution and make effective use of our resources.
- We will promote green procurement in all aspects of our operations in order to help build a sustainable recycling society.
